Location
The shot was taken on a cold spring day just outside the village where I live. The dog in the shot is mine and she needed a walk, I needed some practice with my camera so it was a perfect opportunity.Time
Morning so the sun was rising in the cloudy sky and the grass was still wet with the morning due.Lighting
The light filtered through the clouds and was giving me some interesting focused light on my dog. I called her at just the right time to make her stop and then the sun shone on her.Equipment
A simple set up of a Canon 5D3 with my gorgeous 70-300 USM IS L lens. Nothing more was used.Inspiration
This was my new dog and I needed some shots of her playing in the fields for my portfolio. Nothing more than that and some practice.Editing
I always post process my work in Lightroom and Photoshop. I shot in RAW so was able to compare the colour version to a mono and was more pleased with the outcome of the latter. Apart from some sharpening and adding more contrast that was about itIn my camera bag
I have my trusted 5d3 and 5d2 as a back up and my Canon 24-105 L F4 and my 70-300 F4 most of the time. If needs be I will also bring my Sigma 150-600 Sport of distance work is required.Feedback
Keep trying and keep shooting. You don't always get it right so I keep asking myself what went right (repeat for next time) and what went wrong (don't do that again, do something different next time.)
