Location
My husband and I were traveling back from Andrew, Texas and we stop in Artesia, New Mexico to have our lunch. There I saw this cloth hanged up in our of the walls in the Mexican Restaurant. While my husband was ordering our food I asked him I will to to the room were i found this one. I knew this kind of cloth is hand woven.Time
It was taken at 2:15:46 PM inside of the restaurant.Lighting
I took the photo inside the restaurant. I saw the light was a little dim so I just used the aperture of f/5.6 to get more details and I increased my ISO to have more light. I usually not bringing any of my flashes however I was not desperate to record this beautiful colorful clothes.Equipment
I used my camera Canon EOS - 1D X, with the canon lens TS-E17mm f/4L, I handheld this photo because there was lots of people and I cannot really used my tripod.Inspiration
I saw that the cloth is full of beautiful primary colors, I saw patterns, I saw light, I saw pattern breaks. I knew pretty well that this cloth is hand woven and has something to do with the Mexican Culture. I want to records those elements and I know I hack do it through my camera and my lens.Editing
I bumped up a little of the saturation and added a very little light so the photo will not become dull. Through bumping the saturation it becomes more vibrant. In my camera bag
When my husband and I will travel I usually have my 3 cameras and in those camera i have already the lenses mounted in those because I don't want to change lenses more often.Feedback
Sometime in our travel we need to look for something. When you look around and you were desperate of the landscape because it is not that breathtaking, you need to look for other things. It might be in the place where you eat, or the place where you take rest, or even in the rest room. The only thing that doesn't cause you something is just to use your photographer's eye and take photo of something. In the restaurant when you are there and it is already the peak hours and lots of people you can use your monopod or just hand held your camera. You can brace yourself to the wall to prevent body shaking and hand shaking in a way you can get a more clear image. Other wise you hold on your breathing while taking photos. Sometimes you can wait also until the costumers will disappear and you can use your tripod. However, I want to tell you this always follow your intuition because photography is an art and it depends your creativity on how you want your photographs would look like.
