Location
This picture has been shoot in a forrest near the small town I live.Time
The photo was taken on 2018 October the 13th at about 14:00.Lighting
The only source of light was the natural light. It was a bit cloudy, so I had not to much worries with hard shadows or contrasts.Equipment
For this shot I used my Nikon D810 in combination with my 45mm. The camara was positioned on a tripod. No other gear (such as reflectors flashes etc.) were used.Inspiration
For a photo contest with the theme wood I had the idea to capture a model in the middle of stacked tree trunks.Editing
Oh yes! The most work on this picture was to find a usable location and then to make the post-processing in photoshop. Because the stacked tree trunks where not so high to fill the frame, I had to fill the fram with tree trunks from other photographed stacked tree trunks. After this, I choosed the color look then I corrected the light a little bit and made only dodge and burn on the model. That's it.In my camera bag
For my portrait shootings I usually use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 45mm a 85mm a 135mm as well the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles and sometimes a 70-200mm f4.0 (if I need it for longer distances).Feedback
Hopefully you have a good Idea and a relaxed model in a good mood. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. A camera with manual control (but don't forget: the best camera is the one you have with you) and then go for it. And yes don't forget to do some the post-processing ;-)
