Location
This photo was taken in my home town .I love exploring local areas and I'm am very keen on gardens & I made a point of popping into this small garden near the local car park as it was quite new to the town had I had never explored it and decided I would take my camera on my next day off . The Garden is called the Botanist Garden and run by local volunteers . On the day I was slightly disappointed when it started drizzling with rain. The garden was a treasure and was so excited to see the blue poppies (Meconopsis betonicifolia ) my favourite flower ever as I love the the beautiful blue colour. So as it transpired the rain became my best asset to enhance my blue poppy.Time
I arrived at the garden late morning around 11Am ,as I've said it was lightly rain but not too dull .Lighting
The lighting was fine considering it was light rain the background wall was great for the composition of the photo .Equipment
On this occasion I used my compact camera Sony HX90V which is easy to carry around as apposed to my Nikon camera . The settings were ISO 80 F/5 1/200 I was happy with the image. No flash /tripod used .Inspiration
I was inspired to take this photo as I love Blue Poppies, to me they are perfect and I just love nature ,exploring my local area and this botanist garden was a Gem, the majority of my photographs are taken locally. I often post my photos on local FB pages groups and have had them selected and printed for local calendars I enjoy my local community.Editing
The only post processing I did was a basic enhancement to colour & sharpen the image .In my camera bag
I normally have my other camera Nikon and 70-300 zoom lens in my backpack.Feedback
Just use the conditions /weather to your advantage as this makes the photograph stand out from the crowd. In this photograph raindrops were the winning recipe to enhance the Blue Poppy and my photograph will always remain a firm favourite of mine which I will treasure forever I am super proud of it .So if you enjoy photgraphy just get out there and explore your local area so much more out there than you think !
