I am very proud of this photo. Anyone who knows me knows I hate being in the dark. I drove hours into nothingness to be among the trees in one of the darkest places in the United States. This is a 30 second exposure of the Milky Way. During the entire time you can have zero light (no phone, no car lights, not even the glow of the buttons inside your car). I couldn't see the camera gear on my seat next to me. I could hear water, but couldn't see it.
The sky is incredible. It looks as tho I may have gotten faint Northern Lights near the bottom that you couldn't see with the naked eye. More to come.
