The symmetry and contrasting colours are great and the juxtaposition of the zebras wonderful.

Location
In January 2017, we took a photography safari tour with Daniel Cox with Natural Exposures. Our guides were from Origin Safaris. This photo was taken in Kenya Africa at the Lewa Conservancy.Time
This is my favorite image of the 5,000 photos taken on our photography safari tour. We got up each morning and were in our Land Rover ready for the sunrise. This photo was taken about 8:00 am after a beautiful sunrise. (the metadata shows about 12:00am but I forgot to change the time on my camera.)Lighting
The natural light was so beautiful after a beautiful sunrise. I loved the light on these zebras. I was particularly happy to get this shot. A majority of my zebra shots are "BUTT" shots. I was over the moon excited that these two took a moment away from feeding to look directly into my 300 (600) mm lens.Equipment
This was shot with the Olympus OMD EM1 Mirrorless Camera. 300mm (600) Lens. No Flash. Iso 200, 1/500, 5.0. I was sitting in a seat in the land rover with the window down. I had a bean bag in the window to stabilize my camera.Inspiration
The inspiration came from having the most beautiful light and having the zebras looking directly at my lens.Editing
After importing my raw file into lightroom, I cropped the photo. Even though I generally don't put the subject right in the middle, this photo just spoke to me as it needed to be right in the middle of the photo. I used a Quick Clean preset, and light noise reduction. Lastly, I used a soft vignette. I loved the photo so much, I immediately ordered a canvas print in a very large size!In my camera bag
I have an Olympus OMD EM1 and Olympus OMD Mark II. I have the a set of pro lens for these cameras: 300 prime, 7-14mm 2.8, 12-40mm 2.8, 40-150 mm 2.8. I also have a teleconverter.Feedback
To capture a similar image, book a trip to Kenya Africa with Origin Safaris. Ask for the guides: Edwin, Zachary, Stanley, and Felix. These guides are amazing and know where to find the big game. And they are also excellent birders so they know where to find the birds and can help you identify the birds as well. Make sure to get up for the early safaris! No sleeping in.
