This photo of my daughter Alora, was taken in our front yard during one of our east coast snow falls .Time
I remember when this image was taken because I had just put my youngest boy down for a nap around noon and quickly brought my daughter out before the wind picked up .Lighting
I use natural light with my photography , and I especially love the light in winter months with the snow blanketing the ground . It was overcast as the snow was falling pretty thick and heavy which created a beautiful light .Equipment
I used my Sony camera with my 50mm prime lens :)Inspiration
My children are my muses , I love capturing pictures of them and to reflect on them throughout the years as they change . The life of a child goes by at warp speed and to be able to freeze moments in time to have forever to look back on is priceless .Editing
I created this photo with the vision of it being in black and white . I twerked it in photoshop to adjust the levels to my preferred black and white look.In my camera bag
I always have my trusted Sony camera bodies , my 85mm prime , 50mm prime , 100mm macro , and my 70-200 lens ! And always have some chewing gum , lollipops incase a child (especially mine) needs some gentle bribing ;)Feedback
Working with natural light in snow months can be tricky as the snow can act as a harsh reflector of light, move around to different areas of where you are shooting to find the sweet spot that works for your vision that you are trying to capture! Don’t be afraid to step outside your comfort zone and keep shooting !
