Beautiful colors, clouds and the dark ground and cows...tree...just beautiful and creative!

Very nice Emma. Love the composition and the colors. My only criticism (constructive!) is that there is some sensor dust at the top which could be edited out.

Awesome shot. Lighting is perfect to get the silhouette look. That tree is perfect for this type is shot. Well done.

Location
I am lucky enough to have this view from my backyard at home in Drouin Victoria, Australia.Time
This was taken during a beautiful, colourful sunset.Lighting
The cows and tree were positioned perfectly between the sunset and me to create this silhouette effect.Equipment
The only equipment used for this shot was my Nikon P900 Coolpix camera.Inspiration
There were a couple of things that inspired me to take this photo. This beautiful tree has been the subject of several photos I have taken. I love how this tree appears during winter with its branches exposed creating a very symmetrical, interesting subject. When I saw the cows and sunset as well, I couldn't believe my luck.Editing
Using the Lightroom phone app I increased the contrast and enhanced the saturation to make the image more dramatic and really show the colours in the sky.In my camera bag
In my camera bag I have my Nikon P900 coolpix camera. This camera is a great bridging camera that is a pretty good all rounder for an armature like myself. I also carry a set of lens filters. I have Hoya macro lenses along with Nutral Density and polarizing filters. I have a lens cleaning cloth, spare memory card and charge cord. I also have a tripod in a separate bag with me at all times.Feedback
To capture an image similar to this you will need to find an interesting subject that is due west. That way if you get a nice colourful sunset it will occur behind the subject creating this silhouette effect. I always spend a lot of time making sure I frame the image well and think about composition before I take the photo. I always take several shots and change the framing and composition slightly in each image and then chose which one I like the best later. It is important that you expose the image for the sky. You want the silhouette to be under exposed so it just appears black. If you expose for the foreground the sky will blow out. I also focused on the tree so that it was nice and sharp.
