Around 7.30pm gave the perfect amount of blueness in the sky, i.e. Blue Hour.Lighting
Rather difficult lighting in that in the area there were no rooftop accesses, therefore this shot had to be taken from indoors, in a restaurant, using a tripod on a fixed dining seat, wedged against a window, with a curtain pulled round the whole setup (including me) to prevent interior lights reflecting on the glass! Furthermore, when post-processing the shot at home, I found that the exterior of the window was filthy with hundreds of specs of dirt, each of which had to be laboriously removed in Lightroom! All worth it in the end, I guess!Equipment
Travel tripod, Nikon D750, 16-35mm Nikkor.Inspiration
Had been seeking somewhere (with several failed attempts, despite research) with a sufficiently clear view of the Burj Khalifa, to also show scale and context. This was the final venue before the light faded.Editing
Lightroom: RAW editing: Removal of window filth gremlins, contrast, sharpening, etc.In my camera bag

Sometimes research is not enough - "winging it" can work!
