Behind The Lens
Location
I took this picture in Alaska. I don't know the name of the glacier, but it was on the highway between Anchorage and Valdez.Time
I took this picture at around 4pmLighting
The lighting was gorgeous on the mountains. I had nothing to do with it, I just got lucky.Equipment
I was using my Canon 5D Mark II and a 28-105 zoom.Inspiration
I was inspired to take the picture because of the scale of the mountains and the dramatic retreat in size of the glacier, which my friend who lives in Alaska said has happened only in the past few years.Editing
This picture is an HDR image, shot in color, then converted to black and white. In my camera bag
I normally carry my Canon 5D Mark II along with a variety of lenses that allow me to shoot from 6mm to 500mm.Feedback
My advice is to always have your camera with you, along with a few lenses so you always have what you need when a gorgeous picture presents itself.
