This is an old homestead school house outside of Bozeman, Montana on a piece of Ted Turner's property. He keeps Spanish Creek Road open to the locals so that we may enjoy the beauty of nature and his incredible herd of bison, which roam freely on the hillsides!!!

Location
This photo was taken outside of Bozeman, Montana on the public entry to Ted Turner's property, called Spanish Creek Road, in Gallatin County.Time
You can see, over the hill on the right hand side of the photo, that the sun was just setting, where the bison are roaming. I think it must've been 4pm ish, in the afternoon.Lighting
The cloud cover was absolutely stunning this day and made a natural diffusing of the light. Plus, the golden hour, in this wide sky, made it nearly impossible get a bad photo.Equipment

Montana is the kind of place nature photographer's dream about. The BIG BIG sky lends itself to drama, and on Ted Turner's property, time tends to stands still. The tall grass and the buffalo grazing on the hill, along with the dilapidated old cabin seemed like something out of a John Wayne movie-an old epic tale. You just EXPECT a story to pop out at you somewhere.Editing

Hmmm. Tough one. Go slowly. The toughest thing I had to learn in photography was to SLOW DOWN.... I think it was a good life lesson and a great photography one. When I slowed down, and looked around more, I became more present and aware of the beautiful world around me.
