Behind The Lens

Location

I met my friend at a gas station to help him with his car. He was on his way to meet me to do this photo. Instead of us going to another place I just found a plain wall on the motel next door to the gas station and that is where we did this photo.

Time

It was probably around 3pm.

Lighting

I used a speedlight on camera to try to get rid of any shadows.

Equipment

I used a Nikon d7100 with a 50mm 1.8 lens and a basic speedlight on camera.

Inspiration

I was doing a project on panoramas for school which ended up being panoramas of people's faces.

Editing

Well this image is 3 images combined in photoshop. There was some very basic lighting and contrast editing as well. I had to manually overlay the photos onto each other to try to find the best fit.

In my camera bag

I normally carry my Nikon D7100, a 35mm and 50mm, bot f1.8, and a 70-300 Sigma macro lens.

Feedback

I don't have much advice except that you need at the very least 3-5 images. If I was to redo this photo I probably would get him to not wear a collared shirt or no shirt at all.
