I have a few weddings under my belt, and this is hands down the best wedding ring photo I have ever seen. Very well done!

Behind The Lens

Location

I set the shot up on my dining table. As soon as I saw the challenge I knew what I would do!

Time

It was late afternoon, when I have free time before putting dinner on ;)

Lighting

I did try natural light but it didn't give me the sharpness I wanted. So I went with back lighting and a hooded flash.

Equipment

I did have to use a tripod, to get an absolutely steady shot. I put a fine fabric hood on the flash so as not to wash out the photo. my camera is a Canon EOS 700D, the lens a Canon Macro EF-S 1:2.8 USM

Inspiration

To me a ring is a wonderful symbol of love. I was bought up a Christian so a bible was the logical book of choice. The flowers .. because we live on a farm and mother nature surrounds us.

Editing

I did an edge fade to concentrate on the rings. It then looked a bit washed out so I framed it.

In my camera bag

Canon EOS 700D, Canon Macro EF-S 1:2.8 USM, Canon EFS 18-55 and I use a Takara tripod. I have other lens and cameras but these I use everyday.

Feedback

It really is an easy shot - the ring standing up was the only problem I didn't want to hold it with anything because it might mark the page. The paper in a bible is very smooth ... Keep it true to what you imagine, then it will be your shot!
