This photo was taken on a stormy day in Yorkton Saskatchewan on this bride & groom's wedding day!Time
After such a great time with the girls getting ready, we watched through the window as it rained and stormed. Miraculously the storm subsided long enough for us to get some gorgeous shots in the afternoon.Lighting
This image was natural light only and with the stormy sky in the background it set the perfect scene.Equipment
I used a Canon 6D and my go-to wedding lens the 17-85mmInspiration
I am so used to seeing wedding photos focus on the bride, and I wanted to do something a little different, while showing off the back of the bride's beautiful gown. The happiness between them is infectious and that grin on his face is just wonderful!Editing
I used my dodge and burn to accentuate the stormy sky, used my brightness & contract, and played with the color of their skin a little bit.In my camera bag
I always carry one wide angle lens with me to weddings, my 85mm of course, my 75-200 long distance lens and my go-to all around 17-85 lens.Feedback
I love photographing the little details and giving brides & grooms activities to do so I can capture a more candid moment. Try looking outside of the box and moving around your couple to capture as many different angles and looks as possible!
