This photo was captured when I was walking around the back yard of college where I used to teach in rajkot, guajat. It was breeding season for dragon flies and i was looking around capture some of them , when suddenly i sensed some brisk movements in the grass and than this two reptiles emerged out and started running on a wall.Time
It was a cloudy afternoon and the sun was shining occasionally in between the clouds. So I knew that i will have to be quick in capturing the movement of bot the reptiles.....i shot a series of snaps, around 200 off them, to capture each and every move...starting from chase to capture to slowly swallowing of the lizardLighting
I did not have much opportunity to use light to enhance the picture, so was totally playing with aperture.....and a thought crossed my mind to swith to flash...but did not want any shadows and scare away the 'in progress' act.Equipment
Canon 60 D, Canon 70-200 mm f4...and was helped by a lot of patience and luck to be at the right spot at right time.Inspiration
The speed of the act happening in front of me and the absence of expressions on face of both the reptiles was something which I could not afford to miss out.....plus it was something i was seeing and capturing for the first time....so even was more excited.Editing
No.....I prefer not to do any post processing with my snaps.....this pushes me to be more vigilant and attentive while capturing my snaps. In my camera bag
I carry a manfroto bag loaded with canon 60d body attached to canon 70-200 mm f-4.0 attached to it, a canon 50 mm f 1.8 mm that can be fixed with extension tubes and always a spare battery.....and not to miss out the rain gear to protect the bag, in case it rains.Feedback
My lessons when i finished the capture of complete action......always keep both eyes open, one through the viewer and other open and watching the subjects with naked eye.....to keep a watch on their brisk movements....you don't know what you may miss out while you are busy focusing and clicking....may sound crazy and times difficult to manage, bit its worth.
