Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in my home studio.

Time

It was taken late in afternoon. After my daughter had gotten out of school.

Lighting

I was just experimenting with the lights. I used 2 Smith-Victor flood lights right on her.

Equipment

I used a canon 60D with a sigma DC 17-50 mm 2.8 lens on a tripod. 1/15 sec, f3.5, 17mm at ISO 100. No flash just the 2 flood lights. I shoot everything in RAW.

Inspiration

This great dress from Cracker Barrel restaurant inspired me to set up daughter up. I had her hold up the empty jar and added the heart later.

Editing

Yes I used Photoshop to put in the heart and the tree limbs. I used lightroom first for the coloring of the background.

In my camera bag

I have a Canon 6D, Sigma 50mm 1.4 art, Sigma 35mm 1.4 art, Canon 85mm 1.2, Canon 24-105 4.0, 430EX II speed lights, Phottix Strato TTL Flash Trigger system, tripod

Feedback

Most of my best images come from just trying something new and playing around. It picture was just that. You will never know until you just try it. Fake it till you make it!
