This is a good example of thirds the eyes of the frog are your point of focus and on the upper third line.

I have many plants in a potted style at my home. The little summer tree frogs like to snuggle themselves into the greenery night and day. This particular photo was taken in one of my aloe vera potted plants.Time
If I remember correctly, this photo was shot early morning. The little summer tree frogs were best to find in the potted plants early morning after sunrise and again at dusk before and in the dark.Lighting
When i photograph, I set the flash to come on even in natural light when capturing tiny living things in hiding places. I will only take a few shots due to the flash in their eyes. I do not think this particular photo had the flash go off. I have since found a camera that the flash turns off and is set for children and animal's photo taking so the bright flash does not bother them.Equipment
Other than possibly using a flash, I set the camera to macro photo mode.Inspiration
I love taking photos of nature, animals, everything that moves; and does not. I previously captured a photo of a certain dove that until I saw the photo, I had no idea that a dove had light blue eyelids! That experience not only captured the photo but it was what captured me! I have not stopped attempting to learn more as I go since then. I also try to capture detail in animal shots, meeting them to look into their eyes. I wonder at times what they may be thinking as they carry on their days .. and it is fun! I also have hidden dreams of books I will create and write for children and others as I am shooting.Editing
I try to keep my nature type photos as natural as possible. When I upload a photo to a photo edit program, i will click on the auto adjust button. I look for better clarity/sharpness of the photo. If I do not prefer what it gives, I delete it and keep original then go to sharpen and I use the clarity feature to obtain a clearer shot. I also check on contrast to see if just a slight bit of adjustment can bring the features out better. In my camera bag
My normal equipment consists of a point and shoot camera, extra batteries and extras sd disks and a protective case. The different cameras I've had being point and shoot have consisted of several Olympus, Cannon, GE X400 and GE X500. I was just given a gift of Olympus SZ-12 from a friend when they heard my GE cameras needed to go to manufacturer to hopefully be repaired or replaced. I will add that I have been told by several pro photographers that I need to go to the next level on a camera and take the training wheels off. lol I have been in a long healing process for years so the time as I've spent learning, I also had difficulty with me dropping cameras as I learned. As I am still pursuing to learn, I do hope one day to be able to obtain the correct fitting camera to no longer need training wheels.Feedback
For anyone trying to capture similar photo shots such as this little tiny tree frog, I would suggest patience, timing, persistence and have passionate fun. I was limited where I could go and what I could do so I focused on what I was learning to do. It is just getting started when you know it is a personal passion. It helps to have a created setting.. If you want little tree frogs in summer, have lots of greenery or go to it. If you want butterflies, plant what attracts them. Understand they are alive so plan your shot when using a flash to not use but a couple/few shots. At times I forfeit the shot if I didn't get within first few due to eyes. I shoot for fairness also. It helps when you really enjoy what you are doing. It then comes natural and opportunity will present. Stay aware of your surroundings, be prepared for the unexpected and prepare for the expected, always have the camera with you and click!
