The photo was taken in a parking lot of my doctor's office. I am amateur hobbyist photographer, self taught and more to learn. This was a fun, new POV for me.Time
It was mid morning when I took this shot. I had just finished a doctor appointment and while going to my vehicle, it was very windy outside. They have a very large flagpole in the middle of the parking lot and the flag was waving many different directions. It was beautiful and I was in no hurry that morning so I took my camera, stood right under the flagpole put the camera on the flagpole pointed up to the flag. I used the flagpole to balance myself looking up and also to be in place of a tripod to help steady the camera. The wind kept blowing and I kept shooting.Lighting
The lighting was all natural. It was taken outside in natural setting.Equipment
I used a GE X400 point and shoot camera and the flagpole as a tripod to steady my hands in the shot.Inspiration
As I was walking to my vehicle in the parking lot, the wind was having the flag wave in so many positions that it captured my inners. It was just so beautiful and made me thankful for living in the USA and thankful for all those that served our country and still do. It looked to be singing or dancing in the wind proudly and made my heart thankful for so much. I have always felt God's love in the patriotism I grew up with. Amen.Editing
The photo is pretty natural with little post processing. I did have an edit program used at the time. I inserted the image of the stars swirling around the flag. I felt it gave a bit of feel for the wind and the beauty of the flag and what it stands for. I love our country. In my camera bag
I normally have my camera and extra battery with me. At times I keep a small tripod attached to the camera for steady shots. If setting up for a long shoot I use a large tripod. I normally take my camera with me everywhere I go.Feedback
Have fun and follow your heart as you take photos. If your heart grasps the image of whatever it is, shoot it to capture your heart and what it means to you. Don't be afraid to shoot from different angles if it gives you the better shot. One thing I've learned is that different angles, different POV, is part of the fun of photography in my mind. Like leaning on the flagpole shooting upside down almost and upward. Follow when your heart is in it. You make a memory story for your heart and others may find a story in your photo also. The same thing to one may mean different to another.
