This was definitely my favorite image even though some of the others were spectacular. I felt as if I could almost hear the bird thinking. The colours blended so beautifully. Lesley

Location
The photo was taken on the mountain of Chihuahua, Mexico; in what is called "Sierra Taraumara" That area is full of deep canyons and the wildlife there is amazing, no to many people go walk in those forests.Time
I remember was morning, at the first lights of the day; the hummingbirds were flying arround a group of flowers for the first meal of the day.Lighting
I was not pian too many attention at the light. I was in the deep of a forest, was a cloudy day and the sun wasn't rise yet over the mountains. My priority was to freeze the fly of the hummingbirds.Equipment
I used a Nikon D800 with a 300mm f2.8 lens, 2X teleconverter and a tripod.Inspiration
I love hummingbirds, their different shapes and colors and especially how they can fly. Their unpredictability in flight and the amazing speed in beating wings are for me a fascinating challeng.Editing
I don't like post-processing, I like to take photos with my camera and my eys, not with a computer. The only things I do on my laptop are the same that you can do with a film like cropping, redimencion, ecc.In my camera bag
Because I'm traveling hitch-hiking around the world and I don't have any fixed home I can't bring with me a lot of equipment. I had (I have been robbed) a Nikon D800 with a 16-85 f3.5 and I still have a 300mm f2.8, a 2X teleconverter and a tripod.Feedback
To photograph hummingbird in wild the only advice I can give is to be patient and spend time to observ where the birds go to eat. For what I saw they usually frecuent the same flowers regularly.
