Location
This in one of my favorite shots. It was taken at Lakes Park in Fort Myers, Florida.Time
It was shot on June 22, 2016 at 8:28 p.m.Lighting
Since I was practicing low light photography with a group of friends from a Meetup Group, I used only existing light. This type of image relies on using existing light.Equipment
It was shot with a Nikon 5300, F-stop f/5, 1/100 sec Shutter Speed at 18 mm, no flash or tripod. While I probably SHOULD have used a tripod, I just held the camera.Inspiration
One of the things I love about Florida is the sunsets. Since there had been a rain shower shortly after I arrived at the park I was expecting some good clouds to offer a great opportunity. I just had to capture the colors of this spectacular sunset.Editing
I shot in RAW and processed in Photoshop and Lightroom. I increased exposure on the bushes in the foreground and slightly saturated the colors. In my camera bag
I normally have my Nikon 5300 with it's standard 18-55 mm DX kit lens, as well as, Nikon DX 55-300 mm kit lens. I rarely carry a tripod or much other equipment. I always have a circular polarizer filter on my lenses.Feedback
Be aware of weather phenomenon in your area. While you may not like rain, it offers spectacular photographic opportunities. Just make sure to protest your equipment from the elements. Also remember to change your perspective. This image required squatting at the edge of the lake for a period of time.
