This magnificent tree was located along a path at Winterthur Gardens, in Winterthur, Delaware. Winterthur Museum and Gardens is an estate and arboretum built and created by Jacques Antoine and Evelina duPont Bidermann. It was named after the Swiss town in which Jacques was born. It is my favorite place on Earth.

Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken while on one of our many repeat tours of the gardens at Winterthur Museum and Gardens, founded by Henry Francis du Pont, Winterthur (pronounced “winter-tour”). It is located in Delaware and the grounds are diverse and incredible.

Time

This photo was taken in mid morning on a hot summer's day.

Lighting

The sun was at summer's height that mid morning, lighting the greenery with the most beautiful glow, that I just kept the camera going all morning long.

Equipment

Nikon CoolPix Digital Point and Shoot - No other equipment

Inspiration

Just as in most of my photos, the beautiful of the natural world inspires me on a daily basis.

Editing

Absolutely no post-processing was necessary for this photo.

In my camera bag

I only carry my camera along with lens cleaner as I always am prepared to shoot at a moment's notice.

Feedback

I can only advise one to be observant of the world, to look up, back and all around...Don't bury your head in your cell phone that might mean missing some of the most incredible sites and visceral experiences this life you are living has gifted you with...nature's beauty.
