This is surreal! I'm annoyed at how good this photo is and I'm jealous that it's yours

Location
Outdoor conditions are not always the best for taking pictures. So I take advantage of these moments to develop concetual photography and still life. This was taken at home in my office.Time
It was a rainy day, so I took this picture one morning. since it is a conceptual photo, it does not matter the best choice of natural incident light, but rather the objective I intend to convey with photography.Lighting
This is an interesting question since there are two types of lighting. The light emitted by the lamp and the light I used to lightly illuminate the lamp and the hand. The light emitted on the lamp was achieved using a transformer and a rheostat in order to regulate the filament slightly. However, it was difficult, to lighten the lamp slightly because there is a slight glow in the lamp of this illumination, which I could not get rid of. The background is dark, thus purposely left, creating a dramatic and contrasting environment between light and emptiness, light and darkness, energy and lack of it.Equipment
I used as I said, a lamp, a transformer and a rheostat to control lighting in the lamp, a source of side light to illuminate the scene (hand, arm and part of the lamp). The machine was a Nikon D7100, Nikkor AF 50 1.8 D lens, tripod. I think that for this type of recording the machine serves perfectly and is used as well as the lens used that shows good sharpness.Inspiration
Although he began to photograph essentially with analogical machines, having divulged here some of these works, part of the evolution in photography has progressed to the concetual, abstract style. Not that I always do, but I like it. This image demonstrates something interesting, something that we make the decision is "in our hands". Ideas always come up as something to shine in the dark. Foley tries to address these aspects and show that whenever we want something, everything starts in a basic and small way.Editing
Yes, I always do processing. In this case I tried to control the bright light on the lamp and the difference between the light emitted by the lamp with some control over the orange color. I increased the sharpness and contrast in a way to intensify the dramatic effect on the image. In my camera bag
Nikon D7100, Nikkor AF 50 1.8D lens, Nikkor 18-105 AF lens, Tokina ATX 11-16, Tokina ATX 80-200 2.8, Industar 2 f3.5, Helios 44m-2, coloured filter and a ND filter, polarized filters, remote trigger, etc. After being one of the winners at Sony World Photography Awards, Portugal National Awards i have also a Sony Alfa 7 II and a Sony alfa 6000.Feedback
Sometimes small things can bring big and outstanding works. Use your imagination. And, as possible, bring the camera with you.
