Location
I took this picture at a place called Cala onion. Cala Cipolla beach is situated in a small cove of Southern Sardinia Province, the last of the beaches that we meet in the town of Chia (Domus de Maria). It is one of the most famous beaches of the town, sheltered from the wind and very busy. E 'it characterized by a sandy shore with a fund of beautiful fine golden sand, which in any case is typical of the area. The water is crystal clear with a polychrome between emerald and turquoise, with shallow waters and sandy and the presence of some rocks. All around there is a dense Mediterranean vegetation that surrounds the small but beautiful cove, creating a striking contrast of colors. Pretty crowded during the summer season. The beaches of Chia is perhaps the most protected from the wind.Time
I left home at 20 pm to photograph also the sunset. To 21:30 p.m the Milky Way was already well up on the sky. I photographed until it is gone! to the 1 a.m.Lighting
to the right of the beach there is the lighthouse of Cape Spartivento which illuminated the beach and the boat! thanks to this light I could take pictures at low ISO and make use of shadows and lights with sand!Equipment
I used a nikon d610 with my samyang 14mm! my tripod is a Mantona tripod with Manfrotto MHXPRO-3W. For the Milky way i used an astrotrack called Star adventurer.Inspiration
I wanted a picture where the Milky Way was visible with lots of detail. How do I get to the beach I see the boat stranded in the sea shore and did not think twice. That was my shot!Editing
I have post produced the photo first with and then with photoshop lightroom. with lightroom I balanced white, it gave more contrast and increased the vividness of colors. Photoshop through the use of masks I made a post more selective of the picture! In my camera bag
in my bag there are my nikon d610 with tre lens: 1) Samyang 20mm f1.8 2) Samyang 14mm f2.8 3) nikkor 50mm 1.8g. 4)astrotrack Star adventurer 5)Tripod 6) remote controll 7)headlamp 8) panosaurus 9) water and food!Feedback
For shooting stars and the Milky Way we need a lot of study and passion. I recommend heading out to photograph the star at least twice a week. You learn by making mistakes
