Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during a beautiful sunset on lake freeman. The docks are right outside our cabin on the lake and show a good central view of the lake.

Time

This photo was taken during sunset, I looked outside our window and saw the beautiful sunset and ran to get my camera.

Lighting

This was a hard balancing between not blowing out the sky and not losing all the details in the water and boat.

Equipment

This photo was shot with a Canon rebel t3i

Inspiration

I saw the beautiful rich colors and the rolling clouds looked kind of like mountains and that’s why I took the picture

Editing

I did some basic edits and improvements but I took this when I first started photography and didn’t know much about editing

In my camera bag

I’m pretty light with my equipment right now. I have my Canon 5D, 35mm wide angle, 180mm macro lens. These are my everyday carry but I’ll swap them out if I’m looking for a specific type of picture.

Feedback

The boat foreground is what brings this photo to life. If I had taken it without the boat it would be boring and like a million other photos. My advice would be to look for things that draw interest and can turn a boring photo into one of your favorites.
