You have a really good eye for design and composition. Slightly jealous. Best wishes.

Location
I was walking the streets of New York City while on a family vacation and looked to capture the simple lines of this building as we walked by.Time
It was the middle of the day with no direct sunlight in the area I was taking the photo from.Lighting
The lighting on this particular shot was the natural light at the end of a late summer day.Equipment
I was using my Nikon D200 and Nikkor 17-55mm 2.8 while handheld.Inspiration
I can't say there was anything in particular that inspired me to take the photo other than I wanted to take advantage of wandering the streets of NYC while I was there.Editing
Post processing included taking the original photo and reflecting it to give the converging lines near the center of the frame. I am really drawn to the symmetry from side-to-side and top-to-bottom.In my camera bag
For me, I'm not one that carries a lot of gear. On a given day I can be found carrying the D200, 17-55mm 2.8, SB-800, and 80-200mm 2.8.Feedback
Think about what you want the final image to look like and that will help direct you toward how to take the photo before pressing the shutter button
