Location
I took this in my back yard. The leaf was from a tree on the side of my home. I was fascinated by how big it was and wanted to include it in a portrait of my son.Time
This was shot during the golden hour, about an hour before sunset when the light was soft.Lighting
This was taken in all-natural light.Equipment
I shot this with my Canon 5DSr and my Canon 85mm 1.2 lens. No other equipment was used.Inspiration
The large leaves on the tree. I looked at them one day and thought, those leaves are twice the size of my kid's head. Instant inspiration.Editing
Yes. I tweaked color and contrast in photoshop. I wanted to give this a movie-poster look and so I played with matching the greens to add a more graphic element to the edit.In my camera bag
Canon 5Dsr, Canon 85mm 1.2 and 70-200mm 2.8 lenses, Tamron 24-70mm 2.8 lens.Feedback
I'd recommend shooting around the same time of day and trying the actions I make to make photoshop easier (www.jessicadrossin.com/store).
