Location
I was fishing at the time on a really high tide to the side of Penarth Pier in South Wales.Time
It just happened to be the night of the blood moon and this was taken as the moon was rising about 9 pm.Lighting
It was at the end of twilight as the moon was rising and i remember there was a halo cast by the moon on the clouds.Equipment
Nikon D3300 with a cheap Sigma 70-300 mm lens mounted on a tripod.Inspiration
Saw the ship moored in the Bristol Channel and thought it would be a great photo of a ship similar to one i did my sail training on as a teenager. I noticed the moon was rising but was not in the same frame as the ship so i had to make my way along the shore to line up the shot the best i could. This was as far as i could go along the coastline as the high tide would let me.Editing
Just lightened up the exposure in lightroom and adjusted the highlights and the shadows plus added a little clarity to the ship. Still learning these skills. In my camera bag
Nikon D3300, Nikon 18-55 mm lens, Nikon 55-200 mm lens, Sigma 70-300 mm lens, Neweer Flash, Polarising filter and a couple of cheap ND Filters plus a cable release.Feedback
