This shot was taken at Ness Gardens in the North West of England.Time
This was taken in the afternoon. To get the shot that I wanted I had to get down to the same level as the fungi.Lighting
It was taken on a dull day with minimum natraul light.Equipment
This shot was taken with a Nikon D3200 with a 18 - 55mm lens. The settings were f1.8. ISO 1400, Shutter Speed 1/4000 which gave me a very shallow DoF.Inspiration
I was looking for fungi to photograph. When I saw this one I knew that I needed to take a shot of it.Editing
The only post-processing done was a slight crop and a little movement of the Histogram. In my camera bag
I always carry lens of with varying focal lengths. Spare batteries, lens cleaning kit, SD cards. Tripod filters and flash.Feedback
To capture shots of fungi, you need to be aware of what is on the ground and be prepared to get down to the same level. Even if this means getting dirty.
