This shot was taken while on vacation at a beach in PEI, Canada. I don't remember which one though.Time
This was shot in the early afternoon. As you can tell from the shadows, the sun was almost directly overhead, normally the worst time for shooting. :)Lighting
The sun was almost directly overhead and this was a simple action shot so all ambient light.Equipment
This was shot with my Nikon D7000 and Tamron 150-600mm lens. No flash or any other equipment, just a simple action shot on the beach, hand held.Inspiration
I'd taken a few landscape shots, some of the boats going by and some of the kids playing in the water. I saw this couple playing with their dog and thought I'd try to catch the dog running with the ball.Editing
Fairly minimal, cropped a little for composition, I adjusted the brightness and shadows and contrast a little but that's about it.In my camera bag
Far too much! :) I usually have my D7000, lenses are 18-55, 50, 70-300, ND and polarizer filter, remote, one flash(Yongnuo 560).Feedback
This is a fairly easy shot I think, it was bright which allowed me to keep the ISO low and the shutter speed high. The aperture was probably 5.6. Get down low so that you're at near the same level as your subject, this works with children and animals. For this type, the more shots the better, I think I took about 20 or so before they stopped and was happy that I ended up with a few to choose from. This one, with the dog, completely in the air was the one I was happiest with.
