The evening light heading into Autumn is magical. I had seen this location many times, but there was something extra special about what happened here in the late afternoon and evening. Just watching the horse and the woman interact, the trick was to catch the shot just as the setting sun was highlighting the horse. And trying to get a bit of light on the woman to define her a bit.Equipment
Shot with a Nikon D610, 28-70/2.8,. ISO-400Inspiration
I had seen the light here in the evening and decided I needed to set up a photo session. I knew what I wanted, but I always let the specifics happen on their own. I just knew...woman, horse, backlight, mountains. I had 2 willing models and it did not take long to get the shot. Quite a few keepers from the session, but this one is my favourite.Editing
I had to warm up the image a bit to give it a Fall feeling. Everything was still pretty green. In my camera bag

If you are inspired by a location and you are able to revisit it, do so often. Watch the changing light at different times of the day. What time of day conveys your story? Look at other photos similar to the one you want to achieve. What makes them work?
