Winter is my favourite time of the year to shoot. The world is like a giant softbox. The shorter days make it easy to avoid the harsh direct overhead sun.Equipment
NikonD610 with a 70-200mm/2.8 lens handheldInspiration
Our dog, Graffiti was always a joy to watch and photograph. It was hard to get a good Frisbee shot of her, but playing was never a problem. She was only 7 when this photo was taken and she passed just a few months later from cancer. At the time, she was showing signs of illness, but vets had been unable to diagnose her. So this photo of her is especially important to me. She loved life and played hard until her last week with us. We miss her tremendously.Editing

If you have a specific shot in mind and it is just not working, shift your focus elsewhere. You may end up with a shot that is stronger than the one you originally had in mind.
