It's easy to forget that the setting moon can also give amazingly warm colors to a landscape, given the right conditions to catch it. I took this picture in rural Alabama, on a friend's private land where another tripod has likely never been set up. The warm days and cold nights kept the water warm, which led to copious amounts of mist rolling off the water once the sun set. The moon is just outside of the frame here, about to set behind the trees. The rising mist and long exposure really caught the warm colors in the light, even though it was harder to see with the naked eye. If you look close, you can see some star trails through the mist caused by the long exposure-long focal length.
