I’ve visited East Fork Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway maybe a half-dozen or a dozen times in the last several months, trying to get a good sunrise image with some color. One of my visits finally coincided with a colorful sunset, and the color above was just as spectacular as the color below! I chose a vertical composition to focus on the sunrise color, since it was mostly confided to the northern portion of the view. Even though these elevations are technically ‘past-peak’, there’s still a lot of beautiful leaves lingering around on the trees; I suspect that the rain this week will do a number on whatever is left over at the high to middle elevations.
