Reminds me of a dog I had as a kid. If we didn't take her on a car ride "EVERY NIGHT" she would literally run, hide and cry so we had to!!!!! hahaha

She loved car rides. I don't know what it is about dogs that they like to stick their heads out of moving vehicles so much, but she just loved it. She never passed up the opportunity to go for a ride.

Location
I took this photo in the car on the way home from the pet store, where we had just bought her the Doggles so she could wear them on car rides.Time
It was late afternoon on a summer day.Lighting
It was a fairly sunny day. This was shot with all natural light from inside the car.Equipment
I shot this on my Nikon D4 with my trusty Nikon 50 1.8.Inspiration
I always love taking photos of my pets. Maggie loved to go for car rides and we had always wanted to get her a pair of Doggles to protect her eyes when she had her head out the window. I loved the way her ears were blowing in the wind and she looked like she had a huge smile on her face. She rode the whole way home with her head out the window. I wanted to capture that moment.Editing
I didn't do a whole lot of post-processing on this shot. I made some basic levels adjustments in Adobe Camera RAW and then converted to B&W in Photoshop using a B&W gradient adjustment layer. In my camera bag
I always have my Nikon D4 and at least my 50 1.8, although you'll usually find my 70-200 2.8 and my 24-70 2.8 in there as well, along with a Rode VideoMic Go (just in case I decide to grab some video) and my SB-600 flash. The 50 1.8 is nice and compact for regular travel, but I like to have other options just in case.Feedback
This shot was pretty spontaneous. Always be ready because you never know when the perfect shot will come along.
