Unbelievable! Was this a composite? Definitely reminds me of the X-Files. Excellent work, sir!

Yes, x-files was on my mind too when I was processing it, although it did not occur to me at the time of the shot. Its a single shot, 14mm. I was actually shooting the stars & granite wall opposite to the lights. Then I turned around & saw all these cool light rays from the cars & small buildings through thin fog. Totally unexpected beauty. Its moments like that keep us hooked to photography :)

This should have won, in my opinion. But congrats on the Runner Up award. It was well-deserved.

My goodness this is AMAZING!!! The light, the vast mountain silhouette eclipsing the shot. Beautiful! What are the camera settings?

It was a special moment, yes. I used ultrawide 14mm. Iso 1600, 30sec. f2.8. THe usual settings for shooting stars.
