Behind The Lens

Location

Yoemtie, Tunnel View.

Time

Sunrise

Lighting

Was hoping for the clouds to break so sunlight can beam on el capitan to create alpenglow but it never happened... so the colors were muted. However the mist in the valley below looked really nice so I thought converting to b&w would be more interesting.

Equipment

Nikon D800 24-70mm tripod polarizer

Inspiration

Well, a world-class scene of course! & its even better just after a snow storm. & the clean, crisp air.

Editing

B&W conversion. Contrast & shadow adjustments.

In my camera bag

D800 24-70mm 14-24mm 70-200mm Polarizer ND filters remote control snacks!

Feedback

Try the shot thats been done ad nauseum in a different light & condition. You may be surprised by the result. And always pre-visualize the shot well beforehand! I cant stress it enough. And think on your feet while shooting to deal with the unexpected. As always, come prepared & energized.
