Love this. I can almost feel the cool fresh air and sound of the water

Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo while backpacking along the Hoh River trail in the Olympic National Park. I climbed out onto a log on the middle of the river and tried to capture a sense of the river's motion.Time
This was right after the sun had gone done and the blue hour was emerging.Lighting
I thought the blue of the sky complemented the blue of the river.Equipment
I was shooting on a Nikon D700 at the time. I don't think I b brought the tripod out with onto the log, though I was definitely backpacking with one. I believe the lens was a Tamron 10-16mm.Inspiration
I was looking to find a way to capture the feel of the river. It was rushing strongly by and I though thought by getting in the middle of the river I might might be able to convey a stronger sens of what it was really like.Editing
There wasn't much to do on this photo. At the time I was shooting a lot of HDR, but this is just a single exposure. Just standard adjustments. It was shot in RAW so there is always some post-processing to do.In my camera bag
These days i shoot with a Sony A7III (which I LOVE). I', usually carrying a wide angle (Sony FE 16-35mm in this case), a prime (50mm or 85mm), and my telephoto (Sony FE 70-300mm). I also carry a few ND filters.Feedback
Be willing to go "out on a limb" (or this case a log). I know it's a bit scary when carrying nice gear, but sometimes it's really the only way to get original pictures.
