Location
I took this picture during a studio portrait set. I notice a very good light coming from the big window and I asked Elise to move there.Time
We Shoot in the morning. the light in that studio was interesting at that time and from the right directionLighting
It's a simply natural light coming from a big window in the side. I asked her to place in the right position to minimaxe the contrastEquipment
I shooted this with my Olympus Om-D E-M1X and the beautiful tele-photo lens Zuiko 75mm f1.8. I shoot with a large aperture to blur the background.Inspiration
We where shooting with flash and led light but I noticed a very interesting light coming from outside. From that point of view the background was not to good but the light was too beatiful and so i tried. The backgrond looks good, it doesnt seem a photo-studio. I love the mood of the natural light beacuse i love Liendberg style a lot. It seemed a good idea to try this and it was.Editing
I made my usual post process. i Worked a little bit on skin (little) and contrast. I do not use "contrast" selector or something like this; i use layer mask and selection with curve to create more contrast. In my camera bag
My bag is full of thing that I often do not use (eheh). I always have two camera bodies (Olympus OM-D E-M1x and EM1 mark2) with all he three pro prime lenses (f/1,2) 17mm/25mm/45mm that in M43 world are equivalent of 35/50/90mm on ff sensor. I always carrry two light flashes as the Godox V860II and the Ad200Pro with their radio commander. then some batteries, and memory cards (I use Angelbirds. fantastic!!). I always have with me a telephoto, the professional Zuiko 40-150 f2,8: it must be useful also in studioFeedback
This is not a difficult picture to take. the main point is to manage the pose and her look; the feeling and the mood. If you can find a good light it's not too hard have a good esposure. The main point, I repeta, is to create a good combination of subject, posing, clothing and light to have a good picture.
