I took this photo in my studio. It's part of set with Elisa, that's one of my favourite model.Time
We had to wait the end of lockdown and summer to meet and made this set. We shoot in the afternoon, in artificiali light so no problem with this.Lighting
I love the result when I have white on white subject. Elisa was perfect for this. Her skin tone il wonderful and red hair are perfect for this contrast. I jusj light her with a very big umbrella (flash) and thats why her eyes are so dark.Equipment
I always shoot handheld. I use Olympus gear (OM-D E-M1X this time) with fantastic portrait lens as the 45mm pro f/1.2 (90mm eq) or the 75mm 1.8 (150mm eq). the flash was a cheap Godox SK300II with a very big umbrella (reflective)Inspiration
I love red hair and I'm always very inspired with Elisa. I wanted so shoot something "etherial" but also sensualEditing
My post is very simple. I try to have a good image in camera. I uso Photoshop to adjust contrast (levels & curve with mask), skin tone and other simple correctionIn my camera bag
I uso Olympus bodies: OM-D E-M1X and E-M1 mark2 with pro lenses 17mm, 45mm, 12-40pro, 40-150 pro and other fantastic lens as 25mm and 75mm. Flash Godox v860II and his trigger, batterie, memories, X-rite color checker, some filters (ND can be useful with flash). a vocal recorder Olympus LS-P4 and a Dji osmo pocket (great for video backstage)Feedback
portriat is a complex thing. Not difficult, but complex. I have to shoot several time with elisa to arrive at this feeling. I can'a ask her at the first time to do this: she is not professional model, she's a normal girl. Confidence is all in this kind of photoes. It's very important to know what to do, what look and dresses to use and a general idea of the result. Read a lot of magazin, fashion magazine, lifestile mag, and everything where you can find inspiration: real inspiration.
