Location
This photo was taken in outskirts of Anchorage, Alaska in the wild.Time
It was taken between 7 & 8 am in Sept of 2019 as we followed a Moose family hoping to get some nice wildlife photography shots. Very thankful the 'family" was not spooked and quite cool with us (My wife & I ) doing so.Lighting
it was early morning, but overcast, but actually pretty good natural light.Equipment
Hand held, using a Canon 5D Mark II with a 70-200mm lens and a 2x convertor (Sigma)Inspiration
Our inspiration was being in Alaska for the 2nd time in 2 years, and our quest for great wildlife photos, like that of a Moose!Editing
I took this photo from the "safety" of the back seat of our rental car as the Bull-Moose" strolled by us. In other words we were pretty close, but not too close to be intrusive, if you know what I mean. The lens also did it's job. Not much in post really. Just a little cropping and slight saturation and shadows lifted a little. The twinkle in his eye, I was pretty lucky to get that.In my camera bag
Canon 5D Mark II with a 70-200mm lens and a 2x convertor (Sigma). Canon 24-105mm and Sigma 12-24mm wide Angle. Sometimes a Monkey Pod - Tri Pod.Feedback
Do your research, or ask the locals where to go. If you like hiking, as we do that's a good place to find them. Just be patient, BUT be safe. These are WILD animals, you are not in a Zoo.
