Behind The Lens

Location

The photo were taken during a short outdoor photoshooting in Rothrist, Switzerland.

Time

The picture was made in April the 29th in 2017 at about 18:30.

Lighting

The only source of light was the natural evening light.

Equipment

For this picture the Canon EOS 5D Mk III with the Canon 85mm f1.8 has been used. No additional gear (such as reflectors, flashes etc.) were used.

Inspiration

The goal was to make some nice portraits with hat.

Editing

After selecting the photos I choose the color look for each of the sets, then I correct, if necessary, the light of the picture a little bit. At the end I cropped the pic to have a nice composition and that's it.

In my camera bag

For my portrait shootings I usually use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: A 50mm, a 85mm or 100mm macro, and a 135mm, the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom for the slightly wider angles.

Feedback

With a cool idea and a relaxed model in a good mood you have nearly everything you need. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. A camera with manual control (but don't forget: the best camera is the one you have with you) and then go for it. And yes, don't forget to do some the post-processing ;-)
