Behind The Lens
Location
The shoot was taken in Bern, the capital of Switzerland.Time
The photo was made in a arcade of the old part of the city.Lighting
I let the model sit down on an old bench in the arcade to place her in the shadow, just on the edge of bright sunlight. So now I had an almost perfect light on the model.Equipment
I had to make an effort to use other lenses than my beloved 50 mm prime Lens during this shooting. But how boring, in this photo, my fast nifty fifty fit exactly ;-) No other gear (such as reflectors, flashes etc.) were used.Inspiration
The goal was to make some nice portrait and fashion style shoots.Editing
After selecting the photos I choose the color look for each set, the I correct, if necessary, the light of the picture a little bit. Then crop I the pic and last but not least, a classic beauty retouching has been done. The post-processing needs some experience ;-)In my camera bag
For my portrait shootings I always use my full format DSLR with a set of (relatively) fast primes: The 50mm, a 85mm, a 105mm and 150mm macro as well and the magnificent Sigma 24-35mm f2.0 Art Zoom, if I wish a slightly wider angle.Feedback
Hopefully you have a relaxed model in a good mood. Then choose your shooting location and watch the light during the shoot. Grab your camera with manual control with a nifty fifty and then nothing stands in the way of photos in this style.
