Location
This photo was taken in a residential neighborhood on the side of the road.Time
The time of day was at 2pm, it was a partly cloudy day so the sun was playing peek-a-boo.Lighting
I used a 7ft white umbrella to diffuse any harsh sun rays. It was shot in natural sun light.Equipment
I used a Canon camera (5d MIII), a Canon 24-70mm f2.8L II, a Westcott 7’ white umbrella, and a wonderful assistant to hold the umbrella.Inspiration
I wanted to interpret my version of what Mother Nature would look like during the Fall Season.Editing
I used photoshop CC to give the background a more cooler tone to it while bringing the warm colors out. I also enhanced the halo around her head for a more mystical feel. I also cloned any background bushes using adjustment layers to create a more in depth look.In my camera bag
I normally carry very simple and light. I would have 1-2 lenses in my bag, one for wide shots (24-70mm) and one for closeups (85mm), my Canon camera, some batteries, and a reflector or diffuser.Feedback
The most important thing is to have a goal or vision in mind and the kind of mood you want to create. Finding a great location and having a model or subject that can convey your vision into a shot is also key.
