Skogafoss is a massive waterfall located in the southern part of Iceland. It is so accessible that you can literally walk into the waterfall (although i wouldn't want to try that). The waterfall's massiveness and power is so overwhelming, it will definitely leave you in awe.
Skogafoss is so huge that one single photo of the entire waterfall is not enough to show its size. So how do you show how big the waterfall is? The answer is pretty simple, put something else in the frame. So that is me standing right in front of the waterfall (which was really really scary to be very frank!).
This is a wide angle shot. I set up my camera about 50 meters away, zoomed all the way in to get compression off my 70-200 and programmed it to take photos after every few seconds. Once it started doing that, i quickly ran on the stony path and stood right in front of the waterfall. The time when i was actually standing there and looking at the waterfall so close to me, all i could think is how tiny we are! I still remember the noise of the turbulent water, the mist that engulfed me within seconds and the feeling of watching the waterfall of this size just few steps away.A mixed feeling of nervousness, excitement and absolute joy that made me close my eyes, smile and just be in that moment. This is something i will never ever forget.
