Location
This photo was taken during springtime in the Netherlands.Time
This image was a big challenge. I saw on the sat24.com that some threatening weather was coming in where I live. It was 20.30 pm at sunset. I raced with my car in order to find a suitable tulip field, and luckily found one. Went quickly in and set up my gear. the storm was looking huge and scary. I couldn't see which way it will go to so my heartbeat went sky high as I was scared for my equipment and for the thunders. Luckily the clouds were moving side ways and I started shooting. Such a beauty sitting between the beautiful tulips under that stormy sky.Lighting
It was a strange light situation. In front of me the dark stormy sky and on my back was a beautiful blue sky. Such perfect conditions for shooting.Equipment
A Canon 6D with a 16-35mm lens and a Vanguard tripod.Inspiration
I always look for unique weather conditions and keep an eye on specific weather apps like sat24.com and sunlocator in order to find the right position for the sunset or sunrise. Springtime is the most inspiring time of the season in the Netherlands. Everywhere you draw your eye you see beautiful colors from the different flower sorts.Editing
When using my camera bracketed 3 different exposures and blended them in PS. I also used the nik collection in order to pump up the colors and contrast on this image. In my camera bag
I always have my Canon 6D and 16-35mm lens also from Canon. I use a steady tripod from Vanguard. In the bag also ND filters from Lee.Feedback
I would advice you to become a weatherman yourself.. ;) Unique weather conditions make 80% of a good image. Look for that beautiful light and strange cloud formations. Go early on the spot you have discovered and leave late..! Use your phone and apps in advance in order to check the place you want to shoot and wait for the right weather...!
