That one rocks! I love ariel photography. I've always wanted to go skydiving with a camera, but I became disabled before I could do such a thing. Excellent action shot. Puts one right there in the action.

Thank you very much. Yes it was a wild ride, I got close to 1000 jumps before hanging it up. Can't say never, might get the bug to go back up again soon!

Location
The shot was taken in Homestead, Florida while on a fun skydive jump with my skydive family.Time
Since I normally get to the drop zone at first light I know this shot was taken during one of the first loads which normally take place around 9 AM in the morning.Lighting
This shot is just one of many taken at a rate of three shots per second. The camera was an action camera, a GoPro Hero 3 Plus Black. It is mounted on the helmet and triggered at the moment just before bailing out of the airplane. Best shots happen early and late. Setting up the best POV depends on your ability to fly your body during freefall which is happening at about 160 MPH. It is only until you are able to get to a computer for post processing that you will be able to find out if you have a shot worth keeping with good lighting.keeping. out of an average of 400 pics per jump I manage to keep a dozen worth post process working.Equipment
GoPro Hero 3 Plus Black mounted on a helmet with an emergency cut away device incase of an entanglement with the parachute during and after deployment. Camera set to take three shots per second on continues mode for the whole remainder of the skydive which can last about 5 minutes from 13,500 feet to ground level.Inspiration
My love for capturing lifes moments and sharing them with anyone interested in viewing them.Editing
A very small amount of adjustments on Lightroom to help it appeal to my audience. In my camera bag
During this shot, camera helmet rigged with a cutaway device, the GoPro, and all of my skydiving equipment required to perform.Feedback
If you like this type of action shot you will need a minimum of about 200 jumps in the sport of skydiving to be able to safely perform. Progression will keep you alive. Not taking the proper steps and recomendations can prove to be deadly.
