Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the beach in San Clemente CA.

Time

This is probably one of my favorite photos, taken just before sunset.

Lighting

I wanted a nice silhouette, so I used the setting sun as a backlight, so it would highlight my beautiful model.

Equipment

Nikon D4S handheld 24-70mm.

Inspiration

I was amazed at this mother-to-be and her energy, she exuded happiness and I wanted to show how powerful and beautiful motherhood is.

Editing

I used Light room and Photoshop for some light post processing.

In my camera bag

I always have my Nikon D4S with the 24-70mm and 70-200mm in my bag with a soft cleaning cloth and extra batteries.

Feedback

I would not recommend any jumping for most pregnant women, I was lucky with my model she is an athlete and felt very comfortable doing the jump. Luckily I got the shot in the first jump. Just make sure that you are down low (I was kneeling on the sand) to get the right angle and make sure your model is in front of the sun. Good luck and have some fun.
