One of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. It's possible to walk behind it, and have a nice view from there. The problem is, it's not a camera friendly place, because there is always water falling down inside, and it's difficult to cover the camera from it...

Behind The Lens
Location
This beautiful waterfall is 'Seljalandfoss', one of Iceland's many waterfalls. The special detail in this one, is that it's possible to walk behind it, and contemplate it from its 360º. But to take a picture from inside, is a big challenge: there are always water drops jumping to the camera lens. So you have to get the camera settings ready before, and then shoot as fast as posible, before having to clean the lens again. A funny challenge!Time
It was taken in the afternoon, close to the magic hour. There was still a strong sun that helped to create this texture in the picture. It was like the sunlight was hitting strong to the waterfall. There was also enough light to show the landscape and created depth behind.Lighting
I wanted to show the inside of the waterfall with its own shadows, but also the exterior, to get an idea of its essence. Light helped a lot in this way to create a misterious dark way were you can see people walking through. And also a similar texture of the water and the clouds, the cicle of water.Equipment
It was taken with my little Canon 100-D, hand hold camera. I think the lens was the 55-250mm, used in its minimum range, at 55mm.Inspiration
The place itself inspired to search for a good spot from where to shot and capture this magic waterfall. Can imagine ancient vikings enjoying of that place too.Editing
Yes, I did process a bit the color and contrast; I made it more calid to give a bit more cinematographic look and gave it a bit more of contrast. It worked very well this way to get a stronger atmosphere. In my camera bag
It depends of the trip, but I like to have my 55-250mm Canon lense, and the 50mm always. Im lacking of a good angular lens for landscapes, I just got the standard 18-55mm which I use sometimes when I need it.Feedback
Look for the best spot from where to shot!
