A gorgeous moonlit night at Bear Lake in Rocky Mtn National Park, Colorado. My vision for this image is more what I like to call "artography." I had to blend several images to get the scene I desired. I was also interested in displaying what a night scene looks like with a 20 second exposure Enjoy!

Location
This image was taken at Bear Lake, Rocky Mountain National Park, ColoradoTime
The image was taken about 1/1/2 after sunset.Lighting
The clarity of the sky this evening was truly amazing. Additionally, the winds was almost non-existence creating a perfect situation for a lake refection.Equipment
This image was take with a Nikon d-810, tripod, and Nikon 20mm lens.Inspiration
Knowing how clear the skies were going to be, I was hoping a bright moon would illuminate the landscape with soft moon glow. Turned out just about as I planned and even better with a still lake.Editing
RAW image post processing is almost always necessary to re-create the scene that one wants to portray. A RAW image provides a starting point to appropriately adjust tones, color, saturation, etc. This image was shot at 10 seconds and another at 20 seconds to allow for the appropriate exposure for the sky and landscape. With those two images processed, there were blended with masks to finalize the image. In my camera bag
Besides my Nikon d-850, I am a big fan of primes lens. Thus, I have a 14mm, 20mm, 35mm, and 50mm. Additionally, for different perspective I have a 70-210 and 200-500. Of critical importance is having a very good and sturdy tripod, as well as a L bracket on my camera. It's essential to have a ball head that functions well and allows one to move the camera quickly and effortlessly. Also on the tripod I have a leveling head to allow me shoot panoramas when needed.Feedback
Planning was the essential key to this photo. Knowing the weather conditions as well as the moon phase allowed me to shoot this scene at optimal conditions.
