Generations Apart

This image is clearly one of my favorites I took this past color season. Although grand landscape images can display wonderful views, I really appreciate these more intimate fall color scenes. Focusing in on all the details strengthens the visual experience. Another way to put it; they rock!
This area was in the Silver Jack Reservoir area of southwestern Colorado. I've spend a lot of time in this area the last several years and have been amazed every time. The aspens tend to be the healthiest in the state and also the tallest. This scene really resonated to me with the widely varying generations of aspens side by side. Taken several minutes after sunset, this couple second exposure really captured the aspen glow. It was truly dramatic and I believe I did the scene justice by depicting how I visualized it.
